The creators of Unity were accused of being unethical. The company has updated its engine to version 2019.1, focusing on those changes that are “especially useful for developers in the gambling industry.”

Unity boasted about the new version of the engine with more than 300 changes on Friday.

After that, the developer was criticized on Twitter for supporting the gambling industry.

Unity was required to stop providing assistance in creating gambling games, even if it is a very profitable business.

There were so many dissatisfied that Unity had to delete not only its tweet, but also a blog post dedicated to version 2019.1.

Despite this, Unity recalled the existence of a section on its website entirely dedicated to gambling (both regular casino and smartphone games). Some Twitter users called on Unity to abandon the license for the engine altogether. Others cited the example of Epic Games, which banned gambling creators from using its Unreal Engine.

The Gamesindustry publication requested a comment from Unity about the situation.biz, but the company has not yet responded.
