Unity Technologies and Universal Film Studio have announced a competition for game developers. Its participants will be able to create games based on Universal franchises, including “Back to the Future”, “Battlestar Galactica”, “Jaws” and others. The winner will receive $250 thousand.
The competition will be held as follows:
- acceptance of applications from participants has already started and will last until April 19. To join the fight for the prize, you need to upload a game project to the Unity Connect website in the form of a design document;
- the organizers will select 6 authors of the best game ideas, after which they will start working on prototypes of future titles. They need to be completed by August 15 of this year;
- The winner will be announced at the Unite Los Angeles conference, which will be held on October 23-25.
The jury of the competition includes the author of the screenplay of the “Back to the Future” film trilogy Bob Gale, game journalist of the Venture Beat publication Dean Takahashi, co-executive producer of DreamWorks TV Lauren Montgomery and other persons.
In addition to the cash prize, the winner of the competition will receive a contract for consultations with Microsoft, Universal and Unity.
