The French gaming company Ubisoft has acquired a local studio 1492 Studio, known for a series of episodic dating simulators Is It Love? for mobile platforms.
The amount of the transaction was not disclosed.
Ubisoft Mobile CEO Jean-Michel Detoc called the purchase of 1492 Studio the implementation of the company’s strategy to attract new users.
The company stressed that Ubisoft considers the purchase as a promising investment and does not expect an instant payback.
According to the publication Venture Beat, the titles of the series Is It Love? They are among the top five highest-grossing mobile simulators in the French App Store and in the Top 20 of a similar rating in the United States.
According to the analytical service DataMagic, monthly earnings of games in this series can be up to $ 1 million.
