Sensor Tower made up the top ten games in the App Store that American users rated the most highly. In the first place was not Angry Birds at all and not even Plants vs. Zombies.
The highest rating in the history of the store is from the Geometry Dash platformer launched in 2013 by Swedish designer Robert Topala. This game, combining elementary gameplay with very high complexity, has received about 130 thousand user reviews, of which 97.7% are positive.
The second and third places in the top were taken by the aforementioned Plants vs. Zombies and one of the Sudoku versions. They lagged behind Geometry Dash by a fraction of a percent. The whole top looks like this:
The top was compiled from all the games that received at least one hundred thousand player reviews during the existence of the App Store.
Sensor Tower especially notes the dominance of indie developers in the top.
This includes Lima Sky with its Doodle Jump, and Imangi Studios with the original Temple Run, and NimbleBit studio consisting of four people with Pocket Frogs, and a number of other positions on the list.
