Finnish studio Colossal Order and publisher Paradox Interactive have announced that they have reached the milestone of 3.5 million copies of Cities: Skylines sold since the game was released in March 2015.
“Cities: Skylines has changed our lives. It was our dream project and we spent years working on it. To see how an amazing community has grown around the game is really inspiring,” said Mariina Hallikainen, CEO of Colossal Order.
The head of Paradox Interactive, Frederick Wester, added that the launch of Cities: Skylines was the best in the history of the publishing house: 250 thousand copies were sold in the first 24 hours after the release.
In honor of the two—year anniversary of the title, the developers will release a free DLC “Pearls from the East”, which adds a number of oriental-themed objects to the game – a zoo with pandas, a Chinese temple and the Shanghai TV tower “Oriental Pearl”.
