The Austrian corporation THQ Nordic has acquired the German media publisher Koch Media, which owns the game publisher Deep Silver. The transaction amount amounted to €121 million, according to the company’s press release.

Together with the companies THQ Nordic received the rights to the Koch and Deep Silver game franchises. Among them are the Saints Row, Dead Island and Metro series.

“We are convinced that the developer studios included in Deep Silver under the control of THQ will be able to successfully complete and release at least 4 AAA titles,” said Lars Wingefors, CEO of THQ Nordic.

This year, among the major releases of Deep Silver, the publication of the shooter Metro Exodus and the adventure action Shenmue 3 is planned.

The acquisition of studios is part of THQ Nordic’s policy. The company’s previous purchase was the independent Swedish studio Experiment 101, working on the Biomutant role-playing action. The transaction took place in November last year.
