The president of Sony Interactive Entertainment, Andrew House, announced his departure. He worked at Sony Corporation for almost 27 years.
Andrew House joined Sony in 1990, and in 1995 began working at Sony Interactive Entertainment, where he helped launch the original SonyPlaystation.
House took over SIE in 2011, replacing Kaz Hirai, the current CEO of Sony.
In his farewell speech, the ex-president said that he was incredibly proud of what he and his team had achieved over the decades: to build a full-fledged digital company and delight millions of people around the world with video games.
“I know that PlayStation has a very bright future ahead of it,” House summed up.
House will remain with the company until the end of this year to transfer cases. He was succeeded as president of SIE by Tsuyoshi Kodera, also known as John Kodera.
Kodera has been working at Sony since 1992. He led the launch and implementation of the company’s network services, including the PlayStation Store, PlayStation Video and PlayStation Music services, along with other company products.
