Microsoft has announced the Halo: Spartan Assault project, which will be released only on Windows Phone and Windows 8 platforms.
At one time, the main game selling the first Xbox was Halo. With the release of the second part, the pretentious galactic thriller about the adventures of the Master Chief, in fact, became the hallmark of the platform. The third series, released in 2007, not only sold 5 million boxes, but also doubled the number of Microsoft consoles sold in the first week of sales compared to the previous week. In general, if there were no series, the Xbox 360 would hardly have won the race of seventh-generation consoles.
Announcing the mobile version of the game exclusively for the “native” Windows Phone and Windows 8, the Redmonds, apparently, are counting, if not on a repeat of the scenario, then at least on a significant surge of interest in their mobile platform.
As for the game itself, it will be a topdown shooter for $ 6.99, the events of which will fall on the period between the third and fourth part of the series. The developers are studio 343 Industries, the authors of Halo 4. The game will be released in July.
