Recently we wrote about the announcement of the mobile version of Injustice and wondered what the iOS game would be for its “console brother”. One of the versions was that it could be an additional tool for monetization of the original game.
With the release of the project, it turned out that the guess was correct.
See for yourself, Injustice for iOS is a mix of Infinity Blade and a collectible card game. The elements of the latter are expressed in the presence of ability cards and cards with the heroes of the game. The former are used to improve characters, the latter to replenish the library of available fighters.
The user will be able to use the cards opened on the iPhone in his, for example, Xbox fights. Moreover, there is feedback. The in-game currency earned on the console, experience, and character skins will be available on iOS after synchronization.
Considering that the mobile Injustice: Gods Among Us is distributed under the free-to-play model, it is clear that the cards (and therefore the heroes of the game) can be bought for real money. Thus, two games are monetized at once: Injustice for iOS and Injustice for consoles.
A beautiful solution.
