The founders of Riot Games studio Brandon Beck and Marc Merrill intend to step away from managing the company and return directly to game development.
“When we opened Riot 11 years ago, we spent days and nights thinking about how to make League of Legends as cool a game as possible. Our success began with the opportunity to buy pizzas for all employees, and then Riot Games grew to 2.5 thousand people in 20 offices around the world. Now we are ready to jump into the trenches of game development again, because we love this business,” Beck and Merrill wrote in a blog on the studio’s website.
The new CFO, CTO and president of the company will be Dylan Jadeja, Scott Gelb and Nicolo Loren.
Riot Games is known for MOBA League of Legends, which remains one of the most popular games and esports disciplines in the world.
