The creator of the popular MOBA League of Legends, Riot Games has accused Chinese mobile developer Shanghai Moonton Technology of copyright infringement on its main product.

Riot Games’ lawsuit alleges that Moonton Technology copied many elements from League of Legends in their mobile games Magic Rush: Heroes, Mobile Legends: 5v5 MOBA and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang: character design, monsters, game cards and artwork.

The lawsuit also says that Riot Games warned Moonton Technology about copyright infringement, after which the Chinese developer briefly removed Mobile Legends: 5v5 MOBA from Google Play, but soon downloaded the game again, changing the name to Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and making a few minor changes to it.

Attached to the lawsuit is a 44-page document with images of characters and their abilities copied by Shanghai Moonton Technology from Riot Games, according to the latter.

Magic Rush: Heroes and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang are quite popular – each of the projects has over 10 million downloads on Google Play.
