The development team from Oulu — Fingersoft — recently celebrated a new milestone. Her series of games about overcoming roller coasters on Hill Climb Racing cars began to have more than a billion downloads.

It took the franchise six years to do this. The first game of the series was released in 2012. It featured unassuming graphics and gameplay reminiscent of projects such as Elasto Mania and Earn to Die.

Hill Climb Racing
The success of Hill Climb Racing developers explain two points: the small size of the distribution of the first part and the focus on Android.

At that time, many teams often focused exclusively on the App Store.

In an interview with PocketGamer, the CEO of Fingersoft, Teemu Närhi, noted that most of the game’s installations are organic. The company did not make significant investments in marketing.

He noted user support as one of the key processes in the company. The company not only tries to solve the problems that arise, but also to build connections with its users.

Now Fingersoft has 45 employees.

She remains completely independent. Revenue for last year is unknown, but in 2016 the company earned €15.6 million on all projects.
