Canadian mobile game developer Hibernum Creations has laid off most of the studio’s staff — over 100 employees.
The company explained the reduction as a “transitional period” during which Hibernum began selling its assets.
The studio management promised to make every effort to save as many projects and jobs as possible.
In 2014, the company employed 155 people. Hibernum planned to double its staff in two years after receiving $5 million in state investments from the government of the province of Quebec.
Hibernum Creations is known as the creator of such mobile games as Magic: The Gathering — Puzzle Quest, Beauty and the Beast: Perfect Match, Dice with Ellen and others.
The studio also made trailers, animated videos and concept art to order.
