On August 27, CD Projekt Red for the first time unveiled the gameplay of the future role-playing game Cyberpunk 2077. The developers demonstrated about an hour of gameplay on the Twitch stream service. At the peak of activity, 459 thousand viewers watched the broadcast at the same time, which set a daily record and made the Cyberpunk 2077 stream one of the most popular shows on Twitch this month.

This is reported by the analytical service GitHyp. According to him, Cyberpunk 2077 took the sixth place in the August Twitch popularity rating.

The gameplay stream of Cyberpunk 2077 has twice overtaken the online broadcast of all new and upcoming games this year, including God of War (283 thousand people), Sea of Thieves (259 thousand people) and Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 (204 thousand people).

The hype around Cyberpunk 2077 is caused by the scale of the project and the atmosphere of secrecy that CD Projekt Red has maintained since the first announcement of the game in 2012. The company did not publish news and very sparingly answered questions about the development of the game until the summer of this year. At the last E3 exhibition, Polish developers demonstrated the Cyberpunk 2077 trailer, and also arranged a closed gameplay show for game developers.

Last week CDPR held another closed gameplay show for journalists at Gamescom. It was then demonstrated as part of the Twitch broadcast.

CD Projekt Red has tentatively scheduled the release of Cyberpunk 2077 for the first quarter of 2019. Studio representatives do not rule out that the game may be released later.
