The author of the Sniper Elite series of Sniper shooters, Rebellion Developments has acquired the Radiant Worlds studio, known for the SkySaga: Infinite Isles free-play role-playing sandbox.
The amount of the transaction has not been disclosed, but it is known that under its terms, the current chairman and head of Radiant World, Richard Smithies, will leave the company.
Radiant World has already changed its name to Rebellion Warwick and started working on the cooperative shooter Strange Brigade. The company employs 70 employees.
According to Rebellion CEO Jason Kingsley, in the future, Rebellion Warwick employees will participate in the creation of games based on the Sniper Elite, Evil Genius, Battlezone and other franchises of the company.
We add that in August 2017, work on SkySaga was frozen for a year at the initiative of the game’s publisher, the Korean company Smilegate. This decision has put the future of Radiant Worlds in question.
