Employees of the Terminal Reality studio filed a lawsuit against Microsoft Corporation. According to the developers, Microsoft illegally uses the company’s graphics technologies.

Terminal Reality believes that Microsoft violates their patents in a number of games: from the Halo and Forza franchises to recent releases on Xbox One in the face of Sea of Thieves and PLAYERUNKNOWN BATTLEGROUNDS.

We are talking about the elements of the Infernal Engine game engine. In particular, this applies to light and shadow display technologies.

Terminal Reality is known as the creator of the video games Nocturne, BloodRayne and The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct. The studio stopped developing new titles in 2013.

Infernal Engine was created in 2002. It was used in Terminal Reality games and was offered for licensing to other companies.
