Artist and designer Charles Zembillas admitted that he was disappointed with Activision publishing. The company did not inform him about the upcoming remaster of the Spyro The Dragon platformer, although it was he who created the main character and other characters of the original series.

Zembillas told about this to the video blog Game Brain, which is published on YouTube.

According to him, Activision used for the promo art of the future remaster Spyro: Reignited Trilogy a sketch of the dragon Spyro, which Charles drew in 2002. It hurt him the most.

Zembillas learned about working on the updated trilogy from the Internet after seeing the trailer for Spyro: Reignited Trilogy.

Charles added that Activision had failed him twice already. For the first time, the publisher did not remember about the artist during last year’s release of the remaster Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, and it was he who came up with Crash Bandicoot, the protagonist of a series of cult platformers.

Although the designer is a little offended by the publisher, he really liked the Spyro remaster. Zembillas said that the authors of the Reignited Trilogy from Toys for Bob studio did an excellent job, and thanks to them, Spyro’s adventures began to look the way he himself conceived in 1998.

Spyro: Reignited Trilogy is scheduled for release on September 21, 2018 on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The collection will include remakes of the first three games of the series.
