The former CEO of Fishlabs studio, known for the Galaxy on Fire series of mobile space sims, is raising money for the Everspace PC game.
The current head of the German studio ROCKFISH Games, Michael Schade, who left Fishlabs after its bankruptcy and sale to the Austrian concern Koch Media, no longer makes mobile games. His latest project, the Everspace space simulator, despite its similarity to the Galaxy on Fire series, is a game for desktop systems.
Why a person who has been working in the mobile market since 2004 left for a PC is not entirely clear. It is possible that this decision can be explained by disappointment in the market, and, perhaps, on the contrary, in the fact that the market of “big” games has become so democratic that even ambitious developers have the opportunity to work on it without having multimillion-dollar budgets.
Anyway, Sade plans to collect at least €225 thousand using Kickstarter. And, most likely, he will succeed. During the first day of the campaign, the game gained more than 87 thousand euros. So, most likely, the crowdfunding campaign will be successful. And the reason, it seems to us, is not only the revival of the popularity of the genre and the loyal base of Galaxy on Fire fans. The high speed of the fundraising game may be due to the fact that it has already passed the Greenlight and collects money for exactly what users wanted to see in the game.
