The Chinese corporation Tencent has stated that it will not lose money due to the introduction of game time limits for users of the Honor of Kings mobile MOBA.
According to Tencent, users under the age of 12 make up a small part of the audience, so the restrictions will not affect the overall financial performance.
At the same time, according to the Chinese analytical company Jiguang, more than a quarter of Honor of Kings players are under the age of 19.
Recall that the company started talking about restrictions after critical publications in the Chinese government press — the newspaper “People’s Daily” wrote about the negative consequences of the youth’s fascination with Honor of Kings.
Following these events, the market value of the corporation on the stock exchange dropped by $ 17.5 billion.
