Geolocation in games is not as popular as in social apps. People prefer to have fun in one place rather than running through virtual reality checkpoints. But the developers from Thickpolicy are confident that their new Strut app will find an audience.

The essence of either a game or an entertainment service is to stimulate the user to explore the real world with virtual achievements. Strut loads a real map into its memory, divides it into small squares and plunges it into the “fog of war”. As soon as the user visits a particular place, correlated with a specific square, the fog dissipates. With the number of open territories, the user can compete with friends both locally and globally. Medals are also provided for collecting a certain number of tiles (according to the type of badges in Foursquare). Instagram Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and a number of others can naturally share all your achievements, as well as maps, with your friends on social media.

Recall that Google released its geolocation game in November. The project is called Ingress.
