Direct replenishment of the wallet on Steam may not be available for some users from the beginning of next year. It’s all about “changes in Russian legislation.”
A message about future difficulties appeared on the Steam homepage. The store advised those who use payment terminals, Qiwi wallet, Sberbank or mobile payments to top up their Steam balance by December 31, 2020. Otherwise, they risk losing contact with their Steam wallet indefinitely.
But when using bank cards (apparently, with the exception of Sberbank cards), PayPal, Yandex and Webmoney, no problems should arise.
What exactly will change in Russian laws, Valve did not specify.
