The game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic took third place in the box office top of iPad US in a few hours, overtaking Hay Day, Big Fish Casino, Injustice: Gods Among Us and many other titles.
Despite the rumors, the release of the ported version of the classic game turned out to be, to put it mildly, unexpected. Aspyr Media, responsible for transferring the project to iOS, rolled it out just at the moment when no one was waiting for new products.
It seemed that the main projects of the week will remain Warhammer Quest and Ace Attorney: Phoenix Wright Trilogy HD, which we will write about later today. But on the very evening of Thursday, a large banner of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic appears on the main page of the App Store with the note “editors’ choice”, after which it became clear what exactly the hardcore audience of Apple tablet users will play in the near future.
We don’t know how much it cost to transfer the game to a mobile platform, but most likely it has already paid off. In less than a day, the project entered the box office top five iPad apps in seven countries, including the USA (third place), Canada and the UK. This is without IAP, Facebook, but with a price tag of $9.99.

For the Canadian company, the game has become a defining project.
