It has been reported that Aspyr Media is porting the iconic role-playing game in the Star Wars universe Knights of the Old Republic to Apple tablets.
So far, however, everything is at the level of rumors. One of IGN’s “informants” received a Call of Duty sale advertisement from Aspyr Media. The incident is that the lead of the letter was not about discounts on a shooter, but about a role-playing game based on the cult series by George Lucas: “the critically acclaimed role-playing game in the Star Wars universe is already available on iPad.”
What kind of role-playing game can appear on tablets, IGN did not guess for a long time. Firstly, there are not so many possible candidates. Secondly, of those who are, only Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is suitable for the role of the “critically acclaimed” project (plus, its second part).
The following circumstance also speaks in favor of the “Knights of the Old Republic”: the same Aspyr Media was engaged in porting the game to Mac, recently, by the way, very active on iOS. Now we can only hope that the message was not a “fish”.
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic itself, recall, was released on Xbox and PC in 2003. It was developed by the Bioware team, which today, to a greater extent, is known from the Dragon Age and Mass Effect series. The game is still considered one of the best projects of the Canadian studio and certainly the best project based on “Star Wars”.
P.S. I wonder if 1C will ever please Russian players with a mobile version of “Space Rangers”?
