Sony Corporation is waiting for 130 fresh projects for PlayStation VR this year in addition to the 150 available games. If the forecast comes true, the library of PSVR-compatible games will grow by 80% by the end of 2018.
Among others, the horror The Inpatient, the Bravo Team shooter from Supermassive Games studio and the Moss action adventure from Polyarc are due to be released on PSVR this year.
Although the PSVR remains the most affordable premium virtual reality headset on the market, its sales by the end of the year were half the forecast of analysts who predicted the sale of 4 million headsets in the first 12 months.
In the first 12 months of sales, Sony shipped about 2 million PSVR headsets. In addition, at the end of 2017, the company announced the sale of 73.6 million PSVR-compatible consoles PlayStaton 4 and PlayStaton 4 Pro.
Sony believes that the existing base of owners and potential owners of the virtual reality system is already large enough to attract developers to create new content for PlayStation VR.
