Samsung and Xbox have entered into a partnership in the field of cloud gaming. The companies are working together on a kind of streaming solution.
Samsung representatives told about this at the presentation of Galaxy Unpacked 2020. So far, we only know that the smartphone manufacturer and the Microsoft division are working on a project for streaming premium games.
Microsoft also noted that this project concerns the company’s cloud service — Project xCloud. As stated by one of its representatives: “We believe that great, high-quality games should be available to players all over the world and on any device. Partnering with companies like Samsung is an important step in the development of Project xCloud, it will help make streaming games easier for gamers.”*
* By the way, Sony is among Microsoft’s strategic partners in cloud technologies. They are developing the Azure platform together — Project xCloud also works on its capacities.
Samsung and Microsoft promise to tell more about their work this year. Recall that in October 2020, one of the first components of Project xCloud, designed for Xbox One, will start working. The player will be able to use his console as a server to which, for example, a smartphone can be connected.
And another moment. As part of the partnership, Samsung and Microsoft are porting the Forza Street racing simulator to Galaxy devices. According to CNet, the game was previously only available on PC. Pre-registration for the title has already opened in Google Play and Galaxy Store. No release date has been announced yet.
