Developing a remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time could have been transferred to another team. This was announced in his video by YouTuber Blakwoodz.

He refers to his “friend from Ubisoft India”.
According to the latter, initially the development of the remake was entrusted to an inexperienced team that was unable to cope with the project. After the trailer of the game was severely criticized by the gaming community, it was decided to rework the entire project, in fact, “to make a remake of the remake.”
Therefore, the game was transferred to another much more experienced team, and the release date was postponed indefinitely. Ubisoft announced the transfer a week ago. Then the press release said that “the extra time will give the teams the opportunity to prepare a remake that will allow the game to be a modern game, but at the same time close to the original.”
Blakwoodz himself notes that he does not know whether the information is true. On the other hand, the situation he expressed could well have taken place. In any case, by now the video in which he shared the rumor has been deleted. On his own initiative or at the request of Ubisoft — it is unknown.
Meanwhile, Reddit rightly notes that Ubisoft India as a whole can hardly be called an inexperienced team. On the other hand, it all depends on which studio we are talking about. Founded in 2008, Ubisoft Pune really managed to work on a dozen projects. At the same time, Ubisoft Mumbai was launched only in 2018.
Recall that the game was originally supposed to be released in January. Then its release was postponed until March. Now it is unknown whether the game will be released at all this year.
