On February 16, the results of the first European Google Play Indie Games Contest were summed up in London. A jury of experts from the mobile games industry awarded the victory to the Reigns project of the British studio Nerial.
Reigns is a card strategy in which the player must stay on the throne of the monarch of a medieval kingdom for as long as possible, avoiding conspiracies, intrigues, assassinations and other realities of court life in various ways.
Reigns topped the Top 3 of the competition, which also included the turn-based strategy The Battle of Polytopia from the Swedish Midjiwan AB and the Casuality puzzle from the British from Loju.
In total, 20 finalists from 12 countries, selected from almost 1000 applications, competed for the prizes of the competition. Ten best projects were selected from them. The winners of the developer competition receive premium opportunities to place their products on the international Google Play platform, tickets to the annual Google I/O 2017 conference, an advertising campaign on YouTube in the amount of 100 thousand euros.
