Police in the Indian city of Rajkot have imposed a temporary ban on PUBG Mobile. It will be impossible to play the popular battle royale within Rajkot until April 30, until the school exams are over.
Officially, the ban has been in effect since March 9. In less than a week, the police arrested 10 people playing PUBG Mobile in public places. Six have already been released on bail, The Indian Express reports. It is noted that the arrested were so keen on the game that they did not even notice the approach of the police.
All PUBG fans are advised to turn off the game at the first request of the authorities. Those caught playing battle royale for insubordination may face imprisonment for a month and a monetary fine, according to Indian law.
Mobile “battle royale” is already banned in four Indian cities: Rajkot, Surat, Bhwanagar and Gir Somnath. All these settlements are located in the state of Gujarat, writes the International Business Times. So far, this is the only state where the game has been banned at the administrative level, but the negative impact of PUBG on young people worries parents across the country.
