Details of Apple’s program to reduce the commission to 15% for developers with low income have appeared

The main thing about the new Apple policy:

• both existing developers in the App Store and those who decide to enter this platform for the first time can register for participation in the program. However, their revenue in 2020 should not exceed $ 1 million. By revenue, Apple means revenue from the sale of all applications minus store fees, taxes and currency adjustments;
• as soon as the developer’s revenue exceeds $ 1 million, the commission for him will return to the size of 30%. But if his income falls below $ 1 million again, then the developer will be able to request a reduced commission for himself again — however, only next year;
• in the application, you can specify any of the associated developer accounts. However, be sure to tell how many of them he has in total. These can be all accounts in the Apple Developer Program that the developer owns or can manage. Or all accounts in the Apple Developer Program that control the account of the developer himself;
• in addition to the accounts, the application will also need to specify the name / name of the organization, the team ID, the email address of the bank account owner and describe what the developer has to do with his account;
• While developers are participating in the new Apple program, they will not be able to transfer or accept applications from other developers. According to the company, this will not allow studios to hide and downplay their real revenue.

The Apple initiative will come into force on January 1, 2021, but it is desirable for developers already existing in the App Store to register in it before 10:00 on December 18, 2020 Pacific time.

It will be possible to apply later, but then the commission amount will not decrease immediately, but only in the middle of the next financial month. For example, if the developer manages to register on February 10, then 30 will be charged from him until March 14%
