Of the 30 million downloads generated by the Pokemon game to date, the first 10 million came in the starting week.
This was told by the analytical company Sensor Tower in its official blog. According to the company, this is a record number of days for which any mobile mobile game has reached a similar number of downloads.
However, the company may be wrong both in estimating the number of downloads and in their dynamics. Sensor Tower insists that Angry Birds 2 scored 10 million downloads in 19 days, while Rovio officially announced that it had crossed this threshold on the fourth day after the release of the feathered game (the world release of Angry Birds 2 took place on July 30, and on August 2 Rovio reported reaching the 10 million downloads mark).
The figures from this infographic are estimates, not exact
Anyway, if in the first seven days Pokémon GO, released on July 5 in Australia and New Zealand, collected 10 million downloads, then next week the game, according to the Sensor Tower estimate, generated twice as much.
And this, indeed, has never been done before in such a short period of time. Recall that the full-fledged world launch of the game has not yet taken place. On July 19, the iOS version of the game was released in 34 regions, in each of which, according to App Annie, it occupies the first place in downloads and revenue (the exception is Bulgaria, where the game is in second place in the overall box office top). The Android version of the game was released in 31 countries. In most of them, the game also occupies a top position in the download and revenue chats.
The net revenues of Pokémon GO for two weeks according to the version of the same Sensor Tower are $35 million.
The success of the game developed by the American company Niantic, in which Google, Nintendo and The Pokémon Company had previously invested about $ 20 million (the company could receive another $10 million if certain metrics were achieved), raised the value of the brand owner – Nintendo – to more than $40 billion on the stock market. This is more than Sony is worth, with a market valuation of about $38 billion.
