Just a couple of days after EA was accused of receiving a reward from Apple for delaying the release of the Android version of Plans vs. Zombies 2, the company launched the game on the Google mobile platform.
Last month, the Android version was launched in China, and now it is coming to the markets of Australia and New Zealand, where it will be tested for monetization.
EA chose not the most favorable time for the release of the famous title. As we wrote earlier, the head of the studio, Frank Gibeau, said that “Apple has paid a lot of money for canceling the Android version of Plants vs Zombies 2.”
EA quickly denied the deal with Apple and labeled the situation as an “unfortunate misunderstanding”, during which Gibo’s words were misinterpreted and taken out of context.
Plans vs. Zombies 2 scored a record number of downloads among iOS apps – 25 million by the beginning of September. Nevertheless, the famous title has not been able to break into the world September box office top 10 games.
