The Canadian-Chinese startup Pixelmatic has emerged from the shadows, whose founders believe that the world is about to see the birth of new social games.

John Jordan from Pocket Gamer notes that Pixelmatic follows three trends at once in the modern mobile application market.

Firstly, the company was founded by people from the “big” industry (Ubisoft, Activision Blizzard and Relic).

Secondly, its managers are in Vancouver, and the developers are in Shanghai.

And, thirdly, the company’s employees want to make “really social games”.

What do they mean by this?

Noting the growing popularity of platforms such as LINE, KakaoTalk and WeChat, the company’s CEO Samson Mow says that “social games really provide an opportunity to strengthen existing ties, as well as help to establish new relationships.”

And such games will appear on the mobile market very soon.

“The rapid growth of the audience of messenger applications opens up great opportunities, and we believe that we occupy a unique position that will help us take advantage of them,” adds Kong Ly, Pixelmatic’s chief technology officer.

Perhaps we are talking about games in which users will be able to find friends.

In other words, today in most mobile games, in the absence of friends playing, for example, on Facebook, there is a risk that you will not get pleasure from the process, you will not be able to get a heart or a “ticket” to the next pack.

“Really social games” will allow you to find friends within the game, moreover, they themselves will become a kind of social networks that encourage communication and discussions between users.

Going back to Pixelmatic. For some time after its foundation in 2011, the company operated in a hidden mode, but now it is ready for active action. Her first title is to be released on the Chinese platform 6Waves for Japanese iOS and Android users.
