Obsidian will release a novel and a series of short stories about the Pillars of Eternity role-playing game universe on the Bound mobile platform for literary works.
The author of the works will be the American science fiction writer Richard Knaak, who previously created book series on the game franchises World of Warcraft, Diablo and other fantasy worlds.
The collaboration between Obsidian and Bound began after the successful crowdfunding of the second part of the Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire role-playing game on the Fig platform.
Campaign participants will receive a PDF with the works. Everyone else will be able to read stories from the Pillars of Eternity world for free in the Bound app.
In July of this year, Bound similarly collaborated with the mobile developer Gunslinger Studio, agreeing to publish a series of stories based on the future role-playing game Exiles of Embermark on the platform.
