On June 12, at 19.00, Nintendo started its show as part of E3. The performance turned out to be far from as large-scale as that of other platforms. In addition, the number of significant announcements was kept to a minimum. However, it became clear that the company is now betting heavily on multiplayer and co-op play.

Of the products worth mentioning, whose appearance was announced for the Nintendo Switch, only one relates to a single-player passage. All the others imply at least a game over the network.

Such a strategy is understandable. Another thing is that the company is not so experienced in this compared to Microsoft and Sony. Even before the presentation, analysts expressed concern that the company might not be able to cope with the implementation of online support.

Anyway, just below we mentioned the main titles that were announced for the platform as part of the show.

Super Mario Party

The new game is part of the Mario Party franchise. The projects in this series are collections of entertainment designed for several players. A feature of the novelty is the ability to play one session together with friends on several Switch devices at once, including assembling one screen from them.

Overcooked 2

Much attention was also paid to another cooperative project — Overcooked 2. Now the project about cooking together in the apocalypse will support online multiplayer for up to four players. The project is unlikely to be exclusive to the platform, but in any case, Nintendo takes it seriously.

Killer Queen Black

Killer Queen Black also received a few minutes as part of the presentation. The project looks like a regular multiplayer pixel platformer. In fact, it is a port of a popular arcade game with a complex team gameplay.

Fortnite

The appearance of the Epic Games blockbuster on Switch has been officially confirmed. As with other sites, it will be distributed for free.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

The most attention in the presentation was paid to the new fighting game — Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. In it, the user will be able to choose for the battle any of the game characters that have ever appeared in projects published on Nintendo platforms. The company itself already calls the project “the largest crossover in the history of games.”

Fire Emblem Three Houses

The only major non-multiplayer announcement at the presentation was the display of Fire Emblem Three Houses. A series of tactical strategies with an emphasis on character relationships has finally escaped from the 3DS platform to Switch.
