Worldwide sales of the Nintendo Switch console are ahead of optimistic forecasts. To date, Nintendo has sold more than 10 million units of the Switch and has fulfilled the annual sales plan for the console in 9 months since its launch.
On the eve of the release of the Nintendo Switch on March 3, the analytical companies SuperData and IHS estimated sales of the console by the end of 2017 in the range of 4.4 − 5 million copies.
However, Nintendo has been able to implement about 2.5 million Switches in the last 1.5 months alone. Presumably, sales will increase by the end of the year due to the period of Christmas and New Year sales.
In 2018, a number of major game releases are planned for the Nintendo Switch, including titles from franchises such as Bayonetta, Kirby and Yoshi.
