The authors of the last part of Devil May Cry and Enslaved from the British studio Ninja Theory are entering the mobile market. Last Friday, they announced the signing of a partnership agreement with Chillingo to publish their first mobile game for iOS and Android.

Now it is customary to swear at free-to-play and the mobile market, they say, they have a painful effect on the “big industry”. Unfortunately, few people think that this is the only survival option for some developers. The cost of producing console games is growing from generation to generation, and with it the need to recapture these budgets is growing. Only the brightest projects manage to do this, just good projects and mediocre ones have no place on the market. And they want to eat.

Neither the shrill Enslaved about the love between a slave and a master, nor the adrenaline-fueled Devil May Cry 5 collected cash, despite a good reception from both players and the press. So now the authors of these Ninja Theory games are looking towards the mobile market, hoping to make money on it. Plans to help them with this Chillingo, previously unnoticed for the publication of hardcore projects on the mobile market, which cannot but include a novelty from Ninja Theory – Flightback.

There are very few details about the future project yet. It is only known that this is a fighting game inspired by action films of the 80s. It will be released this summer, visitors to E3 2013 will be the first to play it. Like most modern mobile projects, Flightback will be distributed according to the free-to-play model.
