Japanese online game publisher Nexon has acquired Thai publisher iDCC.

Nexon bought 49% of the company in October 2016. On June 29, the Japanese firm announced the acquisition of the remaining 51% and obtaining a work permit in the country from the Thai government.

As the rightful owner, Nexon renamed iDCC to Nexon Thailand. The new branch will be engaged in the publishing business in Southeast Asia. According to Nexon, the gaming market in this region is growing by more than 45% per year.

“We plan to make Thailand a publishing center for the entire region, and we will help local developers distribute their content around the world,” said Terry Noh, Nexon Thailand’s Chief operating officer.

Nexon Thailand has already prepared a list of games for publication in 2017. It includes mobile titles Durango, Dark Avenger 3 and Point Blank: Strike, as well as Nexon’s flagship game, the role—playing MMO game Maple Story.
