The minimum cost of a mixed reality system (MR) from Microsoft will be about $900.

A headset kit with controllers will cost $399, and prices for compatible PC platforms start at $499.

Two lines of devices are planned, differing in price and performance.

The budget line is represented by desktops and laptops with integrated graphics capable of providing 60 frames per second.

The premium package will be equipped with dedicated graphics accelerators capable of supporting a frame rate of 90 fps.

HP, Lenovo, Dell and Acer are expected to release MR hardware kits by the end of this year.

Microsoft’s MR headset will support content from Steam, including titles such as Superhot VR, Luna, Fantastic Contraption and Minecraft.

Note that on August 21 of this year, the most expensive VR headset on the market, HTC Vive, lowered the price tag by $ 200 to $ 599, repeating the move of Oculus Rift, which also fell by $200 to $ 399 in March 2017.
