Microsoft has named a new executive director. Steve Ballmer was replaced by Satya Nadella. He is a veteran who has worked in the company for more than 20 years. The new head of the largest IT corporation in the world wears glasses, enjoys cricket and loves innovation.

Nadell previously managed the company’s business units and cloud services. The search for a person capable of leading Microsoft in a difficult time was conducted for six months.  The staff was selected by a special commission, which includes Bill Gates.

Instead of looking for a person on the side, the commission attracted a top manager who knows the company well and has been working in it for a long time. Nadella has been working at Microsoft since 1992. For the last few years at the company, he has been engaged in cloud infrastructure. By education, the new CEO is an engineer. Before Microsoft, Nadella collaborated with Sun Microsystems.

Interestingly, one of Nadel’s first decisions as head of Microsoft was an attempt to involve Bill Gates in business processes. The latter resigns from the post of chairman of the management Board (a purely symbolic position) and goes directly to work on projects.

How the new appointment will affect the fate of Microsoft’s gaming division and its mobile policy is unknown. Some Russian developers, meanwhile, have already noticed the similarity of Satya Nadela and another well-known Microsoft top manager, Jay Allard

By the way, since Satya is of Indian origin, then, as one of our colleagues put it, jokes about Hindu programmers acquire additional meaning.
