The CEO of Microsoft believes that over time, gaming stores will have to reduce the size of the commission. But not on consoles. He explains his position by the fierce competition on the PC and in mobile against the background of loss-making consoles.

Satya Nadella told about this in an interview with the AXIOS portal.

He recalled that a month ago Microsoft decided to reduce the commission to 12% for PC games in the Windows Store – its app store. But at the same time, the company is not going to do the same for Xbox consoles (despite the fact that it had such thoughts before).

The fact is that the sale of consoles has not yet brought profit to Microsoft, and the commission from games is one way to compensate for this. Note that earlier, the vice president of the company’s gaming direction also told about the losses of Xbox consoles during the trial of Epic Games and Apple.
