The German publisher has seriously taken up the Commandos brand. After the launch of the remaster Commandos 2 company Kalypso has officially announced the launch of the third internal studio. The new department has been developing a new game series since January.
Commandos 2 – HD Remaster
The studio is called Claymore Game Studios.
She is also based in Germany, in the city of Darmstadt. It is headed by Jürgen Reußwig, who has worked in the gaming industry for more than 25 years (he was noted primarily as the manager of the first parts of Anno).
Plans to launch a new studio that will take over the series were first announced in December. However, it was not reported at that time where exactly it would be located.
There are no details about the new Commandos series. Released in January of this year, the remaster of Commandos 2 was met with a very cold reception due to the large number of bugs and overall poor quality. Before that, the last game in the series (Commandos: Strike Force) was released in 2006.
In addition to Claymore, Kalypso also has an in-house studio in Munich, Realmforge (Dungeons series), and in Gutersloh, Gaming Minds (Railway Empire).
