German gaming publisher Kalypso Media has reported record revenues in fiscal year 2017. According to the company’s representatives, last year was the best in the 12-year history of Kalypso.

The company did not name a specific amount of revenue. According to Kalypso’s chief financial officer Christoph Bentz, the company’s gross revenue last year reached about €50-60 million, and the profit before taxes is calculated in tens of percent of the revenue amount.

Founder and Managing Director of Kalypso Simon Hellwig noted the good performance of the company’s studios in Germany, the USA and the UK.

Kalypso Media is best known as the publisher of the Tropico strategy series.

The company bought the franchise from the American publisher Take-Two Interactive in 2008 and has been releasing Tropico games since Part 3. Tropico 6 is scheduled to be released on PC and console this year.

Kalypso also plans to port the “classic” Tropico to iOS.
