Microsoft has blocked Russian users from being able to connect an Xbox Live subscription over the Internet through its own store. You can now activate a subscription only through third-party retailers.

Important: those who have auto-subscription enabled in Xbox Live will be able to continue to renew it without contacting intermediaries.

“After conducting a technical and operational analysis, Microsoft decided to reorient sales of Xbox Live subscription services from the Russian-language and some other versions of the global online store to retail partners,” the company explains the innovation.
