Last spring, Google announced the appearance of a game hub on Android, similar in functionality to Game Center on iOS, at its own conference for developers. Yesterday the company launched it on Google Play.
The app is called Google Play Games. After syncing it with a Google+ account, the user will see a list of all the games ever installed on the device. If the application supports the new service, the user can also get acquainted with the list of received achievements.
Google Play Games will allow players to post their own achievements on Google+ pages, see which of their friends is playing what, and how successfully they are doing it. You can also go directly from it to the Play Store.
The main problem of the service is that at the moment it is used by units of teams. It should take a long time before Google Play Games can become a really useful tool for the average player. In addition, a clear tie to the little-used Google+ is also unlikely to accelerate the popularization of the service.
