Unity has introduced the fifth version of the game engine of the same name in San Francisco.
The key innovations of one of the most popular mobile game development tools are as follows:
- a new library of “physical” shaders, which, as the engine developers promise, will look good in any light (the library will be available immediately “out of the box”);
- a new model of global dynamic lighting, which is based on Enlighten technology;
- a full-fledged audio toolkit integrated into the Unity editor interface;
- one-click porting of games to web browsers that support WebGL;
- Unity Editor will now support 64-bit solutions;
- tools for targeted cross-promotion.
