Epic increases the portfolio of published games. Today it became known that the Fortnite developer has taken on publishing future projects of two studios — from the veteran of the indie scene Spry Fox, responsible for the emergence of the merge genre, and from the newly launched Eyes Out team, organized by the designer Spec-Ops: The Line together with the guitarist Nine Inch Nails.

We took up the publication to support authors and teams of all sizes, their aspirations to develop games in completely different genres,” commented Hector Sanchez, head of Epic Games Publishing.

Also, according to him, those worlds that create teams are a great example of such support: “We want to help them. We give them full control over IP, as well as provide full creative freedom, providing the best financial conditions and publishing support on the market.”

Spry Fox, which celebrated the first Triple Town merge game more than 10 years ago, as well as a number of “lamp” casual titles, is now developing an as yet unannounced project. All that is known about it is that it will be a multiplayer game devoid of cruelty. As the developers say, their goal is to make the world a little kinder.

As for Eyes Out, this studio was launched only this year. So far, its main feature is the founders. Cory Davis was one of the creative leads of Spec Ops: The Line, and also worked in various positions on F.E.A.R., Condemned 2, What Remains of Edith Finch. As for Robin Finck, he was the guitarist of Nine Inch Nails and Guns N’ Roses.

Eyes Out is working on an unannounced multiplatform singleplayer horror. By the way, the project has already received subsidies from “epics” within the Epic Mega Grant.

The fact that Epic Games is ready to publish third-party projects first became known in March last year. Then the company announced a collaboration with Playdead and Remedy. Since then, there has been no news about the company’s publishing ambitions until today.
