Another studio decided to switch to a four-day working week. Eidos Montreal has announced that it will no longer work on Fridays. Separately, the developer of the Deus Ex and Tomb Raider series clarified that the new schedule will not affect the working conditions and salaries of employees in any way.Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy

This was announced by the head of Eidos Montreal, David Anfossi.

The transition to a 32-hour work week will take teams in Montreal and Sherbrooke several weeks.

As Anfossi noted, with the help of the new schedule, Eidos wants to optimize work processes and increase their efficiency. To do this, for example, the duration of meetings will be reduced from one hour to 30 minutes.

According to journalist Jason Schreier, Eidos Montreal was probably the first AAA studio to switch to a “four-day”. He also noted that in the face of growing competition and a changing labor market, other large companies may follow the example of the Canadian developer.

Last month, several game studios revised their workflows at once. Young Horses, known for the game Bugsnax, also switched to a four-day week. The French studio Dontnod offered its employees to completely switch to “remote”. And the mobile developer Fingersoft allowed employees to reduce working hours by 20%, while retaining 90% of the previous salary.
