Electronic Arts Corporation has liquidated its subsidiary studio Visceral Games, known for the sci-fi horror game series Dead Space.

EA officially announced this on October 17.

Prior to the closure, Visceral Games was developing an action adventure in the Star Wars universe under the working title Project Ragtag. According to the original idea, a feature of the single-oriented game was supposed to be a strong plot.

EA explained that they decided to “radically expand the approach to the design of the future game” in order to make the project “more long-playing”. In this regard, work on the title was transferred to EA Vancouver Studio.

Electronic Arts assured that they have already started transferring Visceral Games employees to other teams.

The fate of game director and screenwriter Amy Hennig, who previously directed games in the Uncharted series, and in 2013 joined Visceral Games to work on a Star Wars project, is still unknown.
