Electronic Arts has closed the office of its Chillingo subsidiary in the British city of Maxfield, Pocket Gamer reports, citing internal sources.
According to them, EA closed the company’s headquarters earlier this year, and a number of employees were cut.
Now there are a few remote employees left in the UK, and the main staff of Chillingo is now based in the USA.
Chillingo will continue to function, but will now focus on supporting existing projects and publishing a limited number of games each year.
EA bought the British company Chillingo in 2010 for $20 million. The publisher has published such mobile games as WarFriends, Iron Force, Micro Machines, Puzzle Craft 2 and others.
