Google has a new vice president. The position was given to the notorious Jade Raymond, the developer of the first parts of Assassin’s Creed, the founder of EA Motive and Ubisoft Toronto studios.
Raymond announced her appointment on Twitter (without details).

Jade Raymond probably headed the company’s gaming direction. We can expect her to appear at the GDC 2019 press conference, which will begin next Monday, March 18. According to insiders, Google is preparing an announcement of a streaming service, as well as a game console.
Who is Jade Raymond
- Raymond’s career is closely connected with Ubisoft and Electronic Arts. But she started out as a programmer at Sony Online Entertainment.
- In 2000, Raymond got a job at Electronic Arts for the first time, becoming a producer of The Sims Online MMO.
- In 2004, Raymond moved to Ubisoft Montreal and led the work on the first games of the Assassin’s Creed series and the first Watch Dogs.
- After spending five years in Montreal as an executive producer, she founded Ubisoft Toronto studio and headed it for another five years. Under Raymond, the sixth part of the Splinter Cell series was created — Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Blacklist.
- In 2015, Raymond returned to EA and opened another studio – EA Motive. She assisted EA DICE and Criterion Games in the development of Star Wars: Battlefront II.
- October of last year was marked by the unexpected departure of Jade Raymond from EA. The official reason is still unclear.
